Spring is upon us

Hello hello. Spring is upon us. Everything is looking so green, so nice, so beautiful after the winter rains. I honestly feel we didn’t get much rain this winter. But the way everything is so green, I am probably wrong.

Anyways it is spring. Excited. Happy. Grateful. And energized to finish the year on a high note.

Winter recap

Mountain biking. I’ve gotten so much better. I’m pushing longer rides now, bigger climbs too. Feeling much better about my jumping, turning, cornering faster than before. My technical skills are getting better too. I am now riding through rock gardens picking up the right lines. Also climbing some sketchy rocky uphills. I am still on this journey and it’s looking very positive at the moment. Everything feels like it’s lining up, which is what I’m excited about.

I had a washout during winter, which led to an infected graze and I was out of biking for about a month. This was sudden and unexpected. As a precaution, I decided to get more protection. I now ride with a full face helmet, knee and elbow guards. Besides safety, just having this protection has increased my confidence on gnarly or super technical sections.

In one of my previous posts, I did mention riding clipless but as I am advancing I am now looking at moving to flats. It just unfortunate that the pedals I want are currently out of stock locally. I am still checking what other brands I can use. Once I start riding black rated trails, I definitely want to be on flats and with the right shoes.

Spring feels good

Anyhow, spring just feels so good right now.

I wasn’t blogging a lot like I expected to this winter, but I hope spring and summer will be a whole lot different. A lot more blogs and MTB.

Weekend warrior

I’ve officially entered my weekend warrior phase. That means I do my rides on Saturdays, especially in the mornings. I should call them Saturday worship sessions, because I play a lot of worship music on the rides and on the peaks, and a whole lot of praise music on the downhills. Because you need to be pumping the heart and praising the Lord while you fly.

This has also helped me to pack longer rides hence more trails. It feels I am doing a whole lot more enduro riding though because of this.
